Improving agricultural soil quality Thematic Annual Programming Network EXPLORING Methods for better integrating research on food economics and climate change Better understanding of trade-offs (positive and negative) across ecosystem services at farm level and their economic effects at farm level Overcoming socioeconomic and technological barriers to GHG mitigation in European agri-food chains INVESTING ERA-NET Agricultural greenhouse gas research • Linkingexperiments and models • Create a strong and open data base • Complementexisting initiatives, e.g. ANAEE, MACSUR • Soilis a key resource for sustainable intensification, for adaptation and mitigation • Collaboration foreseenwithe.g., FAO, JRC, etc.

Implementation • Each research question responds to the FACCE- JPIStrategicResearchAgenda pressing scientificquestions • Working group for each action to explore: • current status of research • scope • options for linking to existing intitiatives • international participation • Many countries involved in each action
