  3. Time to go to the next STEP Adherence to safety rules and policies Reduce accidents and increase awareness Educating drivers is a positive approach to changing behavior WHY TRAC?

  4. Terminal Rules and Awareness Course will include reviewing the terminal safety rules and operational procedures such as: Gate Process Inspection Lane Process Swap Process Reefer/Genset Process Working in the Slag Yard Exit procedures TRAC

  5. Two Phases Phase One: Classroom Safety Training at APMT Phase Two: Web based Safety Training conducted at your office Trac- Continued

  6. Phase One: Drivers will be removed from the terminal immediately for a serious safety violation. Drivers delivering a loaded container will be allowed to park the container then escorted out of the terminal. Driver’s will not be allowed to pick up containers if a serious safety violation was noted. The driver will be required to attend a safety class in order to conduct business on the terminal. Classes will be held on the third Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the main terminal conference room. TRAC – Why are you here?

  7. We request a fax with the driver’s name and company name be sent to Security at 281-470-4600. The driver will need to show security a valid government issued photo ID. A driver’s license will meet the requirement until April of 2009. A TWIC card will be required in April. Drivers attending the class will need to park in our ILA employee parking lot. Drivers will be prohibited to park Tractor trailers on the terminal while attending class. Drivers will be required to leave if they disrupt or become confrontational during the class TRAC-Phase One Continued

  8. Drivers who fail to attend the class will be banned from APM Terminals. It is the trucking company and driver’s responsibility to ensure attendance. Drivers will be reinstated immediately following the class. TRAC-Phase One Continued

  9. Safety Violations- Phase One

  10. Other safety violations can result in written or fines. A repeat of a written violation may result in removal.

  11. Phase Two: Web based, on line at the Trucking Company’s Office. TRAC- Phase Two

  12. Why are you here? Phase TWO Drivers involved in any accident (s), receives any safety violation, failure to operate equipment safely, or disrupts our operation will be required to take the online safety class. Drivers will be banned from the terminal immediately when issued the violation. The driver will be required to take the safety course on line in order to conduct business on the terminal.

  13. The trucking company will need to provide a certificate of completion to APMT Safety Department. Confirmation certificate can be printed from the system The web based access may allow companies to expand the training to new hires or as you deem Trac- Phase Two

  14. First Violation: Driver must complete the APM web access safety class. Driver will be banned from the terminal at the time of the violation until the course is completed. Second Violation: Driver banned from APM Terminals for 30 days. Third Violation: Driver will automatically be banned from our Terminal for a length of time to be determined by the Terminal. Driver’s history will be reviewed by our Safety Department and/or Accident Review Board and driver’s trucking company will be notified of action taken. TRAC How Many Times can I attend Class?

  19. Most Important Question? When is the first class? October 29,2008, 10:00 a.m. Thereafter 3rd Thursday of every month, example November 20,2008 Second important question? When will drivers be allowed back in the terminal? Drivers who attend will be reinstated immediately. We look forward to their participation and safe return.
