  2. UBICACION COMUNA INDEPENDENCIA EN EL TERRITORIO NACIONAL Santiago INDEPENDENCIA

  3. Según la encuesta CASEN 2006, en la comuna de Independencia residen 65.479 habitantes, con una densidad poblacional de 8.848,51 habitantes por kilómetro cuadrado. El territorio de la comuna de independencia, alcanza los 7,4 kilómetros cuadrados. La situación de indigencia alcanza los 871 personas, equivalente al 1.3% ( Ingreso percapita igual o menor a $23.549) de los cuales 3.150 personas se encuentran en situación de pobreza (Ingreso percapita igual o menor a $47.099).

  4. UNIDAD DE INTERVENCION FAMILIAR. La unidad se estructura en un jefe de unidad y seis apoyos familiares; cuatro de ellas son portadas por el Municipio.

  5. La unidad tiene una cobertura asignada de 525 familias, desde el año 2002. • A la fecha se cuentan 543 familias contactadas; de las cuales 139 son familias activas; 266 son familias egresadas, de las cuales el 71.43% en egreso exitoso. El 28.57% restante se distribuye entre familias trasladadas, interrumpidas y egreso por cumplimiento de tiempo.
