Powering Groups of Circuits • PGC.1 : • Study of the electromagnetic coupling between circuits at cryostat/powering sub-sector level. • PGC.2: • Check of the current leads - DFB performance and heat run of a sector. • PGC.3: • Test of the squeezing procedure at the matching sections and dispersion suppressor regions around points 1, 2, 5 and 8. • PGC.4 • Final machine validation by powering all sectors in unison.
Current levels • Main circuits (13 kA, IPQ and IPDs), there are two possible values: • I_PGC_CYCLE: 5 TeV equivalent current. • I_PGC_EMC: 7000 A for RB and RQs and a scaled current for the IPQs. • Correctors : Realistic profile for machine operation, concerning both the circuits to be powered used and their current values (e.g. it means not powering all the 60 A circuits at full current). • The circuits fed through normal conducting leads will go through a long run at I_COMMISSIONED • The circuits are powered using the operation functions instead of the usual PLEP ramps used for the individual commissioning.
