  3. Objective The learner will be able to: • Communicate information on participation in: • Science, Social Studies and Technology categories of the APS One Academic Fair. • Georgia Media Festival

One Academic Fair Timeline 2011-2012 SRT ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL FAIRS December 1-4 Deadline Send Dates of Local School, SRT and OHS One Academic Fairs to Committee Deadline All school-based One Academic Fairs should be completed. Deadline ORIGINAL Entry Forms with signatures due to SRT and OHS District One Academic Fair 1st-2nd 18th 2nd 6th September 2011 November 2011 December 2011 January 2012 February 2012 March 2012 8th 9th 11th 9th 28th HIGH SCHOOL ONE FAIR Deadline Original paper Entry Forms with signatures Deadline Electronic Entry Forms Deadline Classroom One Academic Fairs District Awards Program

  6. Who participates? • Students grades 3-12 may participate in the Technology division. • Projects may be individual or teams of two (2) persons. • There are 12 categories to choose from to enter. • The first place winner(s) of each category by grade level will go to state.

  7. What is a project? • Designed and created by students • No notebook or display board • Sources must be cited • Internet access may not be available • Project should be able to run without connectivity • Students should prepare a 10 minute presentation of their project

  8. How is it judged?-1 • Judged on: • Originality • Clarity • Documentation • Appropriateness • Design

  9. How is it judged?-2 • Demonstrates an understanding of the software • Explains the various aspects of the creation process • Defends choice of software • Answers judges’ question
