EPINET • Exploration and Production Information Networking project • Distributed databases involving 18 servers • A 3-Tier database approach for data flow: • Field level : Asset/Forward Base Database • Regional level : Basin Database • Corporate level : Corporate Database • Covers Well, Production, Drilling, Seismic, Logging & Physical Asset data utilizing • Online Master Database • Log Archival Database • Seismic Archival Database

  3. Softwares • FINDER • LOGDB • SEISDB • DRILLDB • ASSETDB • GEOFRAME GEOLOGY • GEOFRAME PETROPHYSICS • DECISION POINT DATA ACCESS

  4. Databases & Their Integration 1. Corporate Server Dehradun • KDMIPE, IDT, GEOPIC, E&D Dte & Frontier Basin 2. Regional Server Panvel 3. Regional Server Baroda 4. Regional Server Jorhat 5. Regional Server Chennai 7. Regional Server Kolkata • Western Offshore Basin • IOGPT • A&AA Basin • Cauvery Basin • CBM-BPM Basin • Western Onshore Basin 9. Ahmedabad Site Server • IRS • A’Bad Asset 6. Rajahmundry Site Server 14. Nazira Site Server 10.Mehsana Site Server • Assam Asset • KG Basin • Rajahmundry Asset • Mehsana Asset 17 Karaikal Site Server 8. Vasudhara Site Server 15. 5. ONGC’s UWI Policy • Maximum Character size is 20. • 2 characters are reserved for the Region Code • 5 characters are reserved for the Field/Structure Code • 13 characters are reserved for the Well_No and the Well_Type_Code. • Some of the examples of the UWI generated are: • W-AMBD-20 (Western Region, Ahmedabad , Well no 20) • M-B-126-5 (Field code=’M-B-126’, Well no=’5’)

  6. UWI- Well Type Codes • Well Type Code codes are • Horizontal………………..(H) • Drain Hole……………….(DH) • Sub sea Completion …...(SS) • 1st SideTrack……….…. (Z) • 2nd Side Track……….….(Y) • 3rd Side track ……….…..(X) • Multilateral ………. (ML) • First Multilateral……... (ML1) • Second Multilateral….…..(ML2) • Examples: M-B173A-A6-H (Horizontalwell A6 of B173A Structure)

  7. Seismic Data Management Issues • Location data & trace data stored separately • Viewing data is through different S/W applications • Near line storage • Aggregation/Merging • Reloading (?) • Need for a separate SIG (?)

  8. On land Seismic Survey Name • Survey name will be of max 20 characters as shown below :- • Basin Code –Four Characters as followed in Finder • For Onshore-Two Characters i.e. ON • Separator-One Character • Block Code-Three characters • 2D or 3D-Two characters • Separator-One Character • State Code-Max two Characters (As mentioned in Annexure-II) • Investigation No-Max five characters • Example-CMBYON-MEH2D-G401 • CMBYON-ANK3D-G423 • CMBYON-ANK3D-MERGE1 • MERGE1 should indicate the seismic investigation numbers considered for the merging, the details of which should be given in C19 of Annexure IV.
