Enhancing Professional Development for O' and A' Level Teachers: Addressing Current Challenges

The current professional development scenario for O' and A' Level teachers is constrained by limited training opportunities from CIE and SG/RO, focusing mainly on generic support rather than subject-specific needs. There is a lack of structured training calendars and follow-up initiatives, alongside budget limitations. Suggestions include capacity building initiatives using indigenous talent, organizing structured trainings with subject specialists, and implementing formal and informal training sessions. A central training calendar should be established to ensure need-based professional development.
