  2. Why Change? • We have succeeded in giving PFCC a presence at WIH • Start to structure ourselves as institutional leaders in PFCC to maximize our impact. • Make sure the mission of partnering with our patientswill continue.

  3. New structure of Advisory Councils: HWAC versus Service Focused Councils What’s the difference?

  4. Hospital Wide Advisory Council Role Defines the mission, vision and values and oversees overall council structure Sets goals with the hospital leadership to improve patient experience of care Sets the tone and moderates the atmosphere of PFCC values throughout the institution Looks at Ways to Facilitate Culture Change Focus on initiatives that affect the whole hospital Looks at Trending and Works with IPFCC on Best Practice Focuses on Quality and Safety Issues that affect Patient Experience of Care Has representatives from other councils, leadership, and community

Service Focused Advisory Councils • Focuses on recruitment and initiatives that promote Patient and Family Centered Care in their particular area of interest (i.e. NICU) • Translates goals into specific activities for their councils and service areas • Looks at Care Improvement Opportunities in Service Area • Goes to Larger Council for Hospital Wide Support and to Report Out Quarterly
