  2. Choose 2-3 Tedtalks on Food • http://www.ted.com/topics/food • Go to the ted.com link and choose videos that interest you. • Write down the name and title of the video. • Create an analysis template to break down the video.

  3. Analyze the Video: Purpose • Why is the author writing or speaking on this topic? • What do they want the audience to believe, think, or do? • Who is the author or speaker’s intended audience?

  4. Analyze the Video: Tone and Style • How do they convey their message differently than someone else might? • Identify the tone and/or attitude. • Look at specific word choice and structure of the writing.

  5. Analyze the Video: Bias • What prejudices are shown? • Which preferences do they have? • What is their stake in this topic? How do you know?

  6. Analyze the Video: Propaganda • Which persuasive and propaganda techniques are used? • Provide examples to support the techniques.

  7. Write an Analysis • Analyze the speaker in one TedTalk. In ______ (video title) the speaker, _______ (speaker’s name) has one goal: to __________.
