ICT in the Educational System There are several studies and reports emphasizing on the opportunities and the potential benefits of information and communication technologies (ICT) for the purpose of refining the quality of education. It is generally seen as a significant tool for developing well educated societies. More precisely, as a mechanism at the school education level, paving a path to rethink and reshape the educational systems and procedures. Thereby, resulting in high quality education for the masses. The European Commission has been extensively promoting the use of ICT in learning processes through its eLearning Action Plan by enabling easy access to the resources and services. Within the realm of IT, it is certainly possible to promote knowledge base and skill of the individuals. Thus, boosting and improving creativity, critical thinking amongst the people. If supposedly, the curriculum or the syllabus is based on the need or the requirement of the learner, it usually augments the interest for incremental learning and IT, due to its accuracy and factual property can be used to meet the varied needs of the keen learner.

  3. The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) created internationally applicable standards for ICT. It comprises of static, mobile, radio, broadcast and internet technologies. Its primary task is to create high- quality standards for information and communication technologies across all the industrial and societal sectors. About ETSI It was particularly established to make standards for Europe and play a special role as a recognized European Standards Organization and is valued as a producer of standards, for worldwide use. It provides different types of standards for the different needs of business and society. Several US States and the local governments have also accepted the EU standard adoption. Being authorized by the European Union, ETSI endeavors to implement legislation governing electronic use and other EU initiatives. These standard adoptions helps to expand the market share with interoperable products, assure the performance and quality of the product and simplify development using specific guidelines. It has also developed teaching materials on the standardization. There are textbooks by ETSI, compiled with the support of the European Commission and the EFTA Secretariat. Thus, proving to be a helping hand in educating people about the standardization.
