  2. Qualities of an All Star • Demonstrates commitment • Is active • Is responsible and reliable • Is a leader • Is a willing attendee and contributor • Is a team player • Inspires others • Is an ambassador • Is a model citizen • Is adaptable

Duties of an All Star • Meets as a team • Attends and is an ambassador to events • Master of Ceremonies • Plans & conducts leadership event • Attends leadership training events • Participates in community outreach • Visits 4-H clubs • Promotes 4-H program • Participates in sectional 4-H events • Attends Yolo County Leader’s Council meetings • Plans & conducts All Star Selection • Prepares articles for 4-H Newsletter

  4. All Star Selection • Who can become an All Star? • 4-H member • Between 15 and 19 years of age • Has a gold star • Has demonstrated leadership in club and has assumed 2 or more county leadership roles (one in year of application)

  5. Sample County Leadership Roles • Spring Show activity chair • Chair of county-wide activity or event • Delegate to Yolo 4-H Council • Junior or teen leader in a county-wide project • Youth delegate to sectional 4-H Leader’s Council • Summer Camp youth staff

  6. Selection Calendar • May 1-11 Club leaders submit name • May 11 Complete Applications due • May 14 Selection Meeting • May 25 4-H Council Meeting Announcement and Installation of new All Stars • June Planning Meeting for 2011-2012

  8. Selection Process • Selection Committee Meets to review application – 9:00 am May 14th • Selection Committee meets with candidates • Group problem-solving activity • Interviews • Selection Committee assesses candidates and votes • Candidates are notified
