ABOUT NPTI National Power Training Institute (NPTI), an ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 organization, under Ministry of Power, Govt. of India is a National Apex body for Training and Human Resources Development in Power Sector with its Corporate Office at Faridabad. NPTI had been providing its dedicated service for more than four decades. OBJECTIVES • Primary objectives: • To function as a National Organization for training in the field of - • (a) Operation and Maintenance of Power Stations; and • (b) All other aspects of Electrical Energy Systems including Transmission, Sub-Transmission and Distribution. • To act as an apex body for initiating and coordinating training programs in the Power Sector of the country. • To establish and run Training Institutes for Engineers, Operators, Technicians and other personnel of the Power Sector. • Subsidiary objectives: • To identify and assess the training needs of the Power Sector in the country. • To coordinate the training activities of the various Utilities with those of other Technical Training Institutions and supplement it with the training programs of its own Institutes.

OBJECTIVES • To establish standard norms regarding qualifications and training for personnel of various levels. • To serve as a National Certification Authority for the purpose of Certification of Competence and/or participation to ensure availability of properly trained personnel to man the Electricity Supply Industry. • To initiate, conduct and coordinate the research and development studies in the field of Operation, Maintenance and Management of Power Generation and Transmission Systems and to prepare and conduct specialized training programs thereof. • To establish, maintain and manage laboratories, workshops, experimental transmission lines, sub-stations and other facilities required in pursuance of its objectives. • To collect information and maintain documentation in the field of electricity generation and distribution. • To collect, prepare, edit, print and publish material, papers, periodicals or reports in furtherance of the objectives of the Society. • To organize seminars and workshops. • To enter into agreement with any enterprise or institution or person and provide funds to them for specific training programs, demonstrations, assignments, preparation of training material or technical guidance.

MBA (POWER MANAGEMENT) Corporate Office, Faridabad affiliated to MaharshiDayanand University, Rohtak • Eligibility & Intake Qualification: • B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc (Engg) or equivalent in any branch of Engg. with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all Semesters (for SC/ST, only passing marks required) • 120 Seats – 105 (General, OBC, SC & ST) & 15 Sponsored • Candidates having a CAT Score of 50 percentile and above are only eligible to apply • CAT Score is not a requirement for Sponsored Category students • Selection Criteria • Merit list based on CAT scores (70 % weightage), Group Discussion (20% weightage) & Personal Interview (10% weightage) • For Sponsored Category – 60% of B.E./B.Tech, 20% GD, 10% PI, 10% Weightage for Experience

Power Environment Interface (Semester 3) • The subject introduces the understanding of crucial balance the power sector development which needs to be maintained with environment. Various related regulatory structures, EIA procedures, and latest development in clean energy form the course content. • Power Station Management (Semester 3 - Elective) • This elective subject forms the advanced understanding base for systems involved in management of power plants. Finer aspects of Operations & Efficiency is also dealt with.

Global Power Business (Semester 4 - Elective) The paper develops the knowledge of evolving power markets across the world and updates the knowledge related to developing power market operations in India 10. Renewable Energy (Semester 4 – Elective) This paper gives a better insight into various RE power generating systems with special focus on Biomass, Wind Energy, Solar Power & Solar Thermal systems. Economic & Financial systems related to subjects provides a base for enabling sustainable development through alternative sources of energy. 11. Eight weeks Summer Internship with Power Industry Eight weeks Summers Internship with power industry is a mandatory part of the course, to enhance the exposure to live issues, problems & challenges of the power industry. The Final Semester also requires the students to undergo a major project.
