  1. Form and Function Implementation Made Easy

  2. PDF Files for Online Reading > PDF files send the average web browser tapping backspace almost immediately. Your readers want simple, defined information. PDF files are great for printing and distribution, but they should never be used as a source of information for a potential customer and/or patron of your site.

  3. Quick-to-read Content On the average Web page, users have time to read at most 28% of the words during an average visit; 20% is more likely. [JakobNielsen]

  4. Scanning cont’d… Why do we scan? • Users are often in a hurry. Much of our Web use is motivated by the desire to save time. The Web is Darwinism at its height: if a site doesn’t adapt, it dies in the blink of an eye. We know we don’t need to read everything. • Ctrl+f is a fan favorite for a good reason. Most websites contain only a fraction of the information we’re seeking. Therefore, it stands to reason that a browser will scan for significant data and callously dismiss the rest of your content as irrelevant. We’re good at it. • Interestingly enough, both high and low-literacy Web users scan, albeit for different reasons. Your site design must be streamlined and obvious in its content. Less is most definitely more.
