  2. 18th Century Political/Economic Context • What economic and political realities did the global economy create by the 18th century? • What impact did the mid 18th century wars have upon the European powers and their colonies? • American Revolution • What were the causes of the American Revolution? • What was the revolution’s significance for the era?

  3. French Revolution • What was the political system and social structure of France in the “Ancien Regime” (period before the Revolution)? • How did crisis turn to revolution?

  4. Revolutionary Course • Working with a partner create a pictorial timeline of the major events of the French Revolution: • Meeting of Estates General & Tennis Court Oath • Fall of the Bastille • Declaration of the Rights of Man • Women’s March on Versailles • Flight to Varennes • War with Austria/Prussia • Reign of Terror • Each event should have a picture, brief description of event, and a brief explanation of how it shaped the course of revolution. • When finished you will place in the drop folder on the shared drive (save your initial copies to your student folder)
