    1. Transactional-Promotional Printing [The data center meets the marketing department] Presenter: Karen Lytle, Executive VP-Marketing

    2. Agenda Lytrod Software Overview Transactional Printing Trends Get Creative with Statements to Drive Business Sample Trans-Promo Applications Advantage of Xerox Freeflow and Lytrod Software DDC DDC vs pre-composition Other variable workflows Next Steps In today’s webinar we are going to briefly discuss the “Why and How” of variable data printing, the trends of the business as well as show you the hot VI applications that produce results! We also want to tell you about us and our unique partnership with Xerox Corporation, and how this partnership is designed with your success in mind. And for the real reason you are here today, we’ll show you just how easy building variable data printing applications can be. We will show you live applications in real time using Lytrod Software’s Proform Designer. And while the design is certainly important, what makes the Xerox Freeflow VI and Lytrod solution so powerful is the DDC workflow. We will demystify Dynamic Document Construction and compare this to the pre-composition workflows. And finally, because we respect your time today we have limited this presentation to an hour. We will leave you with next steps to take to learn how Xerox and Lytrod can help you grow your business. In today’s webinar we are going to briefly discuss the “Why and How” of variable data printing, the trends of the business as well as show you the hot VI applications that produce results! 3. Lytrod Software Overview

    4. InfoTrends States: 61% of consumers show preference of direct mail over other types of direct marketing (email, telephone, internet) Consumers state that only 31% of the direct mail they currently receive contains personalized content that they find useful. Not everybody will flock to electronic bill presentment or electronic bill presentment and payment, as just under half of the respondents planned to pay bills online.

    5. Transactional Trends The Bad News On-line payment is on the rise Demand for a printed bill is declining The Good News: Opportunity to add value to printed statements InfoTrends estimates transactional printing revenues have reached nearly $15 billion annually The North American market for transpromotional documents printed in full digital color had reached 1.62 billion impressions in 2006. By 2010, we expect this number to be valued at 21.72 billion impressions, representing a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 91% over the four-year period. Change forces… Change Transactional printers are pressed to bring more value to their product: The Statement

    6. Data Mining No one’s been printing variable longer than transactional printers To add value, the bill has to be more than numbers on paper The challenge: How to integrate promotional content in transaction documents without disrupting critical business processes One-to-one marketing with standard databases is easy, how do you “mine” line (LCDS) data?

    7. Current State No data is more…. accurate and contains more relevant customer information than “billing” data expensive (requires highly paid technical resources) to generate and manipulate business critical (billing statements need to be issued in a timely fashion) Harder to manipulate Create bill in the traditional method and add “inserts” that are relevant to the customers buying habits. Result: Inserts are separated and thrown away

    8. Get Creative with Statements to Drive Business Put the message where the customer will read it! “Mine the Line” – Use the transactional data to drive the marketing message “Personalized promotional information integrated into a billing statement is hard to ignore. A customer won’t throw away their bill; therefore it is highly likely that the customer will see the advertisement” - Lytrod’s VP of Marketing, Karen Lytle, as quoted in DPS Magazine

    9. Does customization matter? You may have seen this information before – This widely published study measured the response rates of a direct mail marketing campaign. The one thing to take away from this study is that while basic personalization and full color certainly increase response rates, the effective integration of the DATA, above all else, generates the greatest return on the investment. The documents that produce the greatest return will drive the trend in the industry. The trend in variable data printing is clearly going to be data driven document customization. This is why Xerox and Lytrod have developed the Dynamic Document Construction workflow! What many describe as level 3, or highly complex variable data documents are really not that complex – it’s just that the workflow can’t support the file processing required to generate these documents. We will show you how, with the right tools and VI workflow, you can take full advantage and profit from the power of data driven customized documents designed to target an audience of one.You may have seen this information before – This widely published study measured the response rates of a direct mail marketing campaign. 14. To fully understand the Nuvera Digital Production System and where it can take your business, we’re going to look back briefly at the history that brought us to where we are today and at the trends that continue to shape the print industry. Only then can we understand the present and how the Nuvera Digital Production System can make such a significant difference for your business. 18. Understanding DDC VIPP: Dynamic Document Construction Variable data and relevant customer information is collected and sent separately to the printer VIPP is invoked to dynamically construct the page. Drastically reduces file size and greatly speeds up the printer processing. Pre-composed Traditionally PostScript documents are “pre-composed” requiring processing time and the creation of HUGE files to be transferred to the printer. VIPP With VIPP, just the variable data is sent to the printer. Document resources reside on the printer’s hard disk with a data template that allows dynamic document construction to happen at the printer. The Comparison Here is a Key point! Pre-composing documents require the use of valuable processing time, which consequently, sends very large files to the printer and needlessly taxing the Network. With VIPP you send only the variable information and the document is constructed using only the printer resource. The catch phrase to remember here is ---Just send the data. 20. Supports DocuSP, Fiery, and CREO DFE’s

    21. One License Drives Multiple Printers!

    22. Production Job Submission from any Source!

    23. Other Variable Workflows Many say they emit VIPP but… Are they just a “plug-in” Do they support DDC? Perhaps some VIPP commands are inserted into composed PostScript, virtually eliminating the value of VIPP Question if they support other pre-composition workflows such as PostScript, PPML, VPS True DDC requires only the data as a print file Limited by the software application—Because they are really JUST AN ENTRY LEVEL PLUG-IN
