This workshop provides suggestions for improvement in presentations, exercises, and examples to better engage participants in discussions on animal husbandry, cattle breeding, and decision-making processes. Participants are encouraged to enhance their skills through hands-on activities and group sessions. Suggestions include detailed explanations of integrated models, clearer presentation of uncertainties, and increased use of real-life case studies. An emphasis is placed on practical training and better reflection of regional agriculture challenges.

Suggestions for improvement • Provide all documents and software from the beginning • Talk about animal husbandry and cattle breeding • Extra time needed for face to face discussions • Provide more details about examples chosen • More case studies rather than lectures • Have all the presentations on the computers from the beginning • Have documents about reporting on NC and NAPA • Use more examples in the presentations • Need exercises on how to develop decision matrixes • Provide meaning of all acronyms used • Give more opportunities to participants for intervention • Use bigger font size in slides • Have shorter presentations • Have more case studies and exercises on integration
Suggestions for improvement • Get more information about how uncertainties from integrated models could be reduced • Clarify some presentations which are a bit confusing • Provide more examples • Explain how to get decision makers involved and make them act accordingly • Need more understanding on the integration methods and cost-benefits • Document the tables/examples used better • Abbreviations must be explained
Suggestions for improvement • Make sure computers are working • Present socio-economic scenarios before climate change scenarios • Explain better the technical variables used in the exercise • Provide SCENGEN manual prior to the exercise • Have a list of existing models and their relevance for countries of the region • Use more examples from the Pacific Islands • Provide more details about the emission scenarios • More people to supervise the exercise • Allow more time for the exercise and discussions
Suggestions for improvement • More trainers and time needed • Internet access to allow use of national data • Use real case examples • Present socio-economic scenarios before climate change scenarios • Do not present socio-economic and climate change scenarios the same day • Generate "storylines" just for fun • Better link the topic to V&A • More step by step guidance required
Suggestions for improvement • Make more use of the simulation type of exercise like this one • Use more country examples, especially from small islands • Work in smaller groups • Participants should come better prepared • Dedicate more time to this session • Recap bottom-up presentations before starting group discussions • Distribute a summary of group discussions to participants
Suggestions for improvement • Need for more case studies, exercises and time • Provide data for all countries participating to workshop • Use more software • Provide checklist to help decide on the approach to choose
Suggestions for improvement • Need for more in-depth training for agriculture experts involved in the 2nd NC • Need to better reflect land locked and islands situation • Need more time, exercises and explanations of differences between models • Need to also cover subsistence agriculture • Do not take examples from outside the region (e.g. Egypt) • Add more examples, country case studies/presentations on lessons learnt • Focus more on responses (adaptation) instead of only vulnerability • Linkage to other drivers such as land use plans
Suggestions for improvement • Need more time for hands-on and related materials • Practice models • Organize group sessions like for coastal zones • Pull out examples from the region • Need more clarity on comparative strength and weaknesses of various tools/methods • Be more concrete and talk about more diseases • Focus more on how to adapt
