  2. Hepatitis B Hepatitis B is basically an infectious disease to liver which can result in scarring of the organ, liver failure and even cancer.This can become fatal if is not treated and it spread when people come in contact with the blood

  3. Causes of Hepatitis B • Sexual Contact • Sharing of needles • Accidental needle sticks • Mother to child

  4. Sexual Contact A person may become infected if they indulge in unprotected sexual activity with a person who is already infected with this disease as its blood, saliva, semen or vaginal secretions enter the body of another person.

  5. Sharing of needles This Virus gets easily transmitted through the needles as well as syringes that are contaminated with the infected blood

  6. Accidental Needle sticks The Hepatitis B is one of the major concerns for the health care workers and anyone else who comes in contact with the human blood.

  7. Mother to Child If the pregnant women gets infected with the HBV then it can pass the virus to their babies during birth of the child. Talk to doctor about being tested for hepatitis B if you are pregnant or want to become pregnant.
