  1. How are preparations done before open heart surgery? The preparations for an open heart surgery starts just the night before. The patients are recommended to have an evening meal and are prohibited intake of food or anything to drink at all after the midnight. They are also told to use some kind of antibacterial soap to bathe and clean the upper body. The patient’s chest also needs to be prepared before anesthetic is given, which mainly includes shaving. The patients should wear loose clothes that make it easy for the patient as well as the surgeon to conduct the operation easily without any restrictions. A general anesthesia is also given to the patients to make them unconscious during the openheart surgery. Also keep all the details ready for the hospital use that mainly includes the previous medications, ailments and your insurance cover. The cardiologists in Patna stated that in some cases the anxiety levels of the patient rise before the anesthesia, which is considered to be normal. The patients are also advised to get all the answers to their queries. The doctors also perform some tests before the surgery, which mainly includes the monitoring of heart as well as taking of blood samples. Firstly, a tablet is given to the patient, which is prescribed by the anesthesiologist that makes the patient drowsy. After that the general anesthetic is given to put the patient to sleep.
