  2. The Temple of Saturn -3rd oldest sacred place in Rome -Rebuilt three times (42 BC and and 4th century AD) -The temple was dedicated to the god Saturn -Dedicated around 497 BC

  3. The Temple of Saturn again -All that remains are eight columns with a pediment on top -The remains are from the third temple, which was created because the second was destroyed by fire -The third temple was built by the people and senate of Rome

  4. The Temple of Saturn a third time -Located in the western area of the Roman Forum -Sits at the foot of Capitoline hill -The statue inside the temple was wooden and veiled, and also held a scythe

  5. Still the Temple of Saturn -Inside the temple was the treasury -Saturn was associated with wealth -It stored the Republics gold and silver, and the official scale for measuring metals
