  10. นักศึกษาแพทย์ปีละประมาณ 230 คน • มีหลักสูตร M.D., -Ph.D. ที่ได้รับทันสนับสนุนจาก NIH • มีหลักสูตร combined degrees อื่นๆ อีก คือ M.D.-M.S. in Clinical Science, M.D.-M.B.A. (เป็นหลักสูตร 5 ปี), M.D.-M.P.H • residents ปีละประมาณ 1,300 คน • graduate students ประมาณ 1,800 ต่อปี • Postdoctoral training ประมาณ 1,000 คน ต่อปี • มี health professional students ประมาณปีละ 300 คน

  12. ด้านบริการโรงพยาบาล • มีโรงพยาบาลที่อยู่ในความดูแลคือ • UT Southwestern Medical center ขนาด 450 เตียง • Parkland Health & Hospital system (เป็นโรงพยาบาลที่ JFK ถูกนำตัวมารับการรักษาเมื่อตอนถูกลอบสังหาร) ขนาดประมาณ 1,000 เตียง • โรงพยาบาล Children’s Medical Center Dallas (ซึ่งติดอันดับ Top 10 ของประเทศ) ขนาด ประมาณ 400 เตียง รวมแล้วมีจำนวนเตียงประมาณ 1,800 เตียง • โรงพยาบาล VA North Texas Health care system • IPD ปีละประมาณ 99,000 ราย และ OPD ประมาณ 1.6 ล้านราย • มีทีมห้องฉุกเฉินที่ถือเป็นอันดับ 4 ของประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกาและได้ส่งทีมไปช่วยในเหตุการณ์ 911 • เป็นโรงพยาบาลที่อัตรารอด (survival rates) จากการทำ heart and lung transplantation เกินร้อยละ 90 ซึ่งเป็น Top 10 ของประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา

  13. ด้านการวิจัย • โครงการวิจัยปีละกว่า 3,500 เรื่อง • งบประมาณวิจัยปีละกว่า 400 ล้าน USD • มีอาคารวิจัยโดยเฉพาะ Biomedical Research building เป็นอาคาร 14 ชั้น มี Cancer Center รวมอยู่ด้วย • มีงานวิจัยที่โดดเด่นเกี่ยวกับทาง • genetics and molecular base diseases มีการศึกษา identify genes ที่เป็นสาเหตุของโรคต่างๆ เป็นต้น • Medical technology เกี่ยวกับ imaging

  14. แนวทางความร่วมมือในอนาคตแนวทางความร่วมมือในอนาคต ด้านการศึกษา • การแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาทั้งระดับนักศึกษาแพทย์ graduate students และ residents เพื่อให้เกิดความร่วมมือกัน และให้อาจารย์ของทั้งสองฝ่ายได้รู้จักกัน ด้านการแลกเปลี่ยนอาจารย์และบุคลากร • การรับอาจารย์มาศึกษาต่อทั้งในระดับปริญญาเอก และ fellowship trainings ด้านการวิจัย • หัวข้อวิจัยที่อาจนำไปสู้งานวิจัยร่วม • Viral induced liver cancers • Identifying candidate genes in diseases • Tuberculosis • Non-AIDS related Cancer in HIV-infected patients • Infection in transplant patients
