Reflection Activity- Diary Entry • Your Task: Pretend you are a newly freed African American & write a diary entry for them. • Choose a scenario: • Attending a freedmen’s school for the first time • Working on a plantation using the contract system • Reading about 40 Acres and a Mule in a newspaper • Entry should include: • Appropriate year • Description of new experience (scenario) • Feelings about their new experiences • What they want for their futures • 7 sentences
