  2. Electric radiant floor systems, hot water or hydronic radiant floor systems, and radiant air floor systems (heat is carried by an air medium) are the three main categories of radiant floor heating systems. Both three types may be divided into smaller groups based on the method of installation: those that take advantage of the large thermal mass of a concrete slab floor or gypcrete concrete over a wooden subfloor (known as "wet installations"); and those that position the radiant floor tubing in between layers of plywood or under the finished floor or subfloor (known as "dry installations") ("dry installations"). We'll focus on the hot water or hydronic radiant floor heating device for the purposes of this article. Visit: Rama Corporation Radiant Hydronic Floors For areas with long heating seasons, hydronic (liquid) methods are also the most preferred and cost-effective radiant heating systems. Warm water from a boiler is pushed into tubing laid in a pattern under the floor in hydronic radiant floor systems.

  3. The temperature in each room is regulated in several systems by regulating the flow of hot water into each tubing loop. A system of zoning switches, motors, and thermostats may be used to do this. The cost of installing a hydronic radiant floor differs by region and often depends on the size of your residence, the type of construction, the floor covering, the distance from the site, and labour costs. The oldest form of modern radiant floor device is the so-called "wet" installation, which embeds the cables or tubing in a concrete floor. In certain situations connected with slab type homes empty of basements or cellar and garage floors, the tube or cable could be set in a dense concrete foundation slab, or in a thin layer of concrete, gypcrete, or any substance mounted on top of a subfloor. Because of the extra weight, external floor reinforcement may be needed if concrete is used and the new floor is not on firm ground. There is a clear suggestion that you meet with an experienced engineer to determine the carrying ability of the floor.

  4. Thick concrete slab systems have a large heat capability, making them suitable for storing heat from solar energy systems with variable performance, as well as geothermal heating sources or on-demand tankless boilers. The disadvantage of thick slabs is their sluggish thermal reaction time, which renders night or daytime losses tough, if not impossible. For these heating devices, most experts suggest keeping a stable temperature in the house. Summary: Rama Corporation is open starting Jan 4th 2021.
