  2. Terms A multiple of a number is the product of the number and any nonzero whole number. A least common multiple (lcm) is the least of a multiple shared between two or more numbers.

  3. Method #1: Listing Method Find the LCM by listing multiples and looking for the least common multiple. Examples: 12 and 16 3, 12, and 15

  4. Method #2 Using Prime Factorization to Find the GCF Step #1: Begin by writing the prime factorization of each number. Step #2: Circle the common factors. Step #3: The LCM is the product of all of the common factors and all of the remaining numbers.

  5. Find the LCM between the sets of numbers using prime factorization 84 and 360 54 and 126

  6. Example Watches: Jon’s watch beeps every 40 minutes and Sam’s watch beeps every 50 minutes. Both watches just beeped. In how many minutes will this happen again?

  7. Example #2 Tour Bus Schedule: Three tour buses leave the visitor’s center at 9:00am. Bus A returns to the visitor’s center every 60 minutes, Bus B returns every 40 minutes, and Bus C returns every 75 minutes. What is the next time the buses will all return to the visitor’s center at the same time?
