During the summer shutdown, our team coordinated with 20 personnel from various divisions to ensure successful maintenance operations at Linac, Booster, Tevatron, and Mini-Boone facilities. Key tasks included rebuilding the tunnel sump system, repairing RF cavities, and addressing insulator issues at Mi40. We also conducted leak checks and cleaned several components to prevent contamination. Unscheduled outages due to external factors, like lightning strikes, were managed effectively. The shutdown enabled essential upgrades and safety tests for efficient ongoing operations.

Mi • Maintenance • Currently a problem atMi40, a broken insulator on an Ion pump forcedus to re-bake the lambertsons, a delay of a week. • Continued work on gap clearing kicker system(One of the shutdown drivers) • Installed flourinert tank/skid/piping • Pulled cables • Found corrosion on kicker beam pipe Kovar flange, so the beam pipe had to be cleaned, acid etched, and acid neutralized. • A little more work needed this Wednesday
Tevatron • Maintenance • Plan was to NOT warm up the tevatron We had 4 planned and 2 unplannedpower outages that we had to deal with that dumped the Tevatron. The fear was moving contamination. • Fixed leak at A3 (air leak). • Leak checked B1 and D1, founding nothing bad. • A leak developed at D4 due to mushy o-rings (not radiation damaged), after being fixed a 2nd leak developed and as a result it was decided to warm up D4 and replace all the o-rings. This extended the shutdown a week. • Roll measurement of Ring. • adjusted 100 magnets.
Pbar • Didn’t change magnet • Maintenance • Repaired motor drive stands at A30
Sy120 • All neutrino magnets and septa installed • Septa currently at 52 Kv • Currently working on vacuum system. Mini boone Currently wet transformer almost dried out Flow concerns on raw skid
Fess • A lot of feeder maintenance( only about ½ of what we do during a normal shutdown • CuB Maintenance2 un scheduled power outages that dropped ½ the site, • One due to a lightening strike • 2nd due to flash over Misc • Zebra mussels • Feeders • Substation maintenance • Cub maintenance. • Safety system testing • Redo nitrogen system1 dewar(3-4 days)
