Forestry Related Conservation Innovation Grant 2011 - Northeast The American Chestnut Foundation (KY, OH, PA, VA, WV) $541,136 • Use chestnut to establish forest plantings on reclaimed mine sites in Appalachia, develop an online trees database to store, share & track data, run workshops to evaluate mined sites for plantings • Gather feedback from collaborators and landowners who participate in workshops and plantings. • Volunteers will measure and monitor the new plantings input data into a database.
Managing Your Woodlands:A Common Template for Forest Management Plans – Released 2010
Implementation 2012-2013 - Beginning an Analysis of Progress: • States were asked to review the template and evaluate its value as a tool for landowners – What are the results? • States are encouraged to add their own state specific information – How much modification has there been? • For those states who adapted and are using, what process is used for landowners to apply for a plan? • Feedback will be used to adapt/modify Version 2.0
