European Challenge: Enhancing Deep Learning and Employability Skills Development

This project spans two weeks, where students collectively apply their knowledge by assessing company requirements in cities like Vienna and Bratislava. They visit premises, interview local agents, and conduct field research to gather real data. Each group prepares a report and presents to the company board made up of tutors. The challenge emphasizes deep learning, skills development, and hands-on experience to boost employability. Motivation is driven by realism, relevance, enthusiasm, and enjoyment of learning. This project is part of the Centre for Education in the Built Environment.

  1. The use of CHALLENGES to boost deep learning; employability and skills development.

The European Challenge • Over two weeks the students collectively apply their knowledge by assessing the company's requirements and analysing potential premises in several cities (e.g. Vienna, Bratislava). • Students visit premises, interview local agents, and conduct field research in these cities. This provides each group with relevant, real data. • Each group draws up a report and makes a professional presentation to the company board, which is played by tutors. Students as consultants, tutors as clients.
