  8. Из концепции выставки… • Когда евреи говорят: «Никогда больше!», – то подразумевают, что они никогда больше не допустят повторения Шоа. Никогда больше – Освенцим, никогда больше – газовые камеры, никогда больше – убийство шести миллионов евреев. К сожалению, нет гарантий, что это окажется под силу евреям, если к власти придет новый Гитлер. Еврейский философ Факенхайм сформулировал то, что он назвал 614 заповедью – в дополнение 613 заповедям Торы – не даровать Гитлеру посмертных побед, не предать забвению слова «еврей» и «иудаизм», хранить Память...

  9. Из концепции выставки… • Самая многочисленная еврейская община до Второй мировой войны находилась в Польше; своими близкими или далекими корнями к ним восходит половина рассеянных по всему миру современных евреев. Черная туча Катастрофы заслоняет тему польских евреев, их истории, их исключительной культуры в Европе. После Всессожения уцелели лишь следы духовного и материального наследия: немногочисленные синагоги, произведения искусства, кладбища, памятники... Осталась человеческая Память и главы на страницах истории.

  10. Из концепции выставки… • Выставка «Никогда больше!» – это нестандартная попытка приблизиться к осознанию и пониманию беспрецедентной Драмыв истории еврейского народа. Творческий симбиоз художественных инструментов – текста, фотографии и графики – позволилвоссоздать трагический альбом Памяти жизни польского еврействав годы Холокоста. В каждую представленную работу вплетенаигра контрастов между сухими историческими фактами иголосами очевидцев событий, современными видами памятников Трагедии и эмоциональной авторской интерпретацией, которая их дополняет. Последние страницы альбома остаются пустыми и «Никогда больше!» не должны оказаться заполненными. Это зависит от нас, живущих на земле. И первый шаг, который должны сделать мы, – хранить Память…

  11. Об авторах • Представленная экспозиция создана усилиями двух молодых талантливых авторов, которые уже не в первый раз объединяют свои творческие дарования для реализации общих идей.

  12. Об авторах • Александр Элькин (родился в г. Харькове в 1984 г.), будучи молодым ученым-программистом, руководителем и преподавателем Восточноукраинского филиала Международного Соломонова университета, не ограничивает свои интересы профессиональной деятельностью, а занимается также фотографией, литературным творчеством, изучением истории и психологии. • Александр Винокур(родился в г. Харькове в 1987 г.) – дизайнер и художник, работающий в разнообразных техниках (батик, графика, живопись и другие направления), постоянно стремящийся найти новые применения своим способностям: моделирует одежду, декорирует помещения, в 2005 году иллюстрировал книгу Александра Элькина «Зарисовки», преподает дизайн.

  42. From the Concept… • When Jews say “Never again!”, they mean that they will never allow a repetition of the Shoah. Never again to Oswientzym, never again to gas chambers, never again to putting six million Jews to death! Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that Jews alone will have enough strength to withstand such a horror again if a new Hitler comes to power. The Jewish philosopher Fackenheim formulated what he called “the 614th commandment” (in addition to the 613 commandments of the Torah): never grant Hitler posthumous victories, never forget the words “Jew” and “Judaism”, be true to the Memory…

  43. From the Concept… • Before the Second World War the most numerous Jewish community was to be found in Poland; half of contemporary Jews now scattered all over the world have been descended from it. The Black Cloud of the Catastrophe overshadows the theme of Polish Jews, their history, their unique culture in Europe. After the All-consuming Fire not many traces of their spiritual and material heritage have survived: a few synagogues, an occasional piece of art, some cemeteries and memorials... But people’s Memory is alive on the pages of history.

  44. From the Concept… • The “Never Again!” exhibition is an unorthodox attempt to get a deeper insight into the unprecedented Drama in the history of Jewish people. A creative symbiosis of artistic instruments – text, photography and graphics – has made it possible to restore the tragic Memory album of the Polish Jews’ life during the years of the Holocaust. Interwoven into each exhibit is an interplay of contrasts between dry historical facts and the “live” voices of the witnesses to the events, pictures of modern monuments to the Tragedy, and the authors’ emotional supplementary interpretation. The last pages of the album are left blank and must ”Never Again!” be filled in. Whether it does, depends on us, the living. And the first step for us to take is to keep the Memory...

  45. About the authors • The present exhibition has been produced by the joint effort of the two gifted authors who more than once put together their creative abilities to realize their artistic concepts.

About the authors • Alexander Elkin (born in Kharkov, 1984) is a young scientist in programming, a lecturer and the Vice-Director of the Eastern-Ukrainian branch of International Solomon University. Besides his professional duties he enjoys writing and photography and has a deep interest in history and psychology. • Alexander Vinokur (born in Kharkov, 1987) is a designer and an artist exploring different techniques (batik, graphics, painting and other) and constantly striving to find new challenges to develop his talent : he works as a clothes and interior designer, he made illustrations to Alexander Elkins book «Sketches» and , besides, he teaches design.
