Medical Advances • Persian scholar named Al – Razi was a great physician of Muslim world. • Wrote an encyclopedia called the “Comprehensive Book” that drew on knowledge from Greece, Syrian, Arabia, and Indian sources as well as on his own experiences.
Math and Science Stretch Horizons • Reliance on scientific observation and experimentation, and the ability to find mathematical solutions to old problems. • Muslim scientist preferred to solve problems by conducting experiments in laboratory settings. • Muslim scholars believed that mathematics was the basis of all knowledge.
