  5. Notes about the analysis of the PLM Context from STEP • Viewpoints have • Effectivity • Specification • Option value • Used to form rules • These configure the P_V_D • Product_configuration of the effectivity & variant options, versions • Precise or set • Product_specification is a sub-level of configuration • E.g. a test config OSLC PLM Workgroup Jan18th 2011

  6. Assumption • At the start of the Scenario the CR has a PLM context assigned • The scenario results in an update of the PLM context (arising from the changes made to meet the new/changed Requirement) • Reassignment of PLM Context from other CRs is out of scope initially OSLC PLM Workgroup Jan18th 2011

  7. Remarks about the PLM context in ALM • In the our scenario the CR needs to make available • Product class, spec, the configuration and its intent • What is the context in ALM for our Requirement ? • Project • Baselines • Simple approach is the link the Requirement to the PLM Context provided by the CR • This supports the basic approach within the scenario • Is it sufficient to link the prevailing ALM context to the PLM Context provided by the CR ? • Can think of this as the CR providing the context • Not if need to manage variants within ALM OSLC PLM Workgroup Jan18th 2011
