  11. CCD • Charge-coupled device: a semiconductor chip with a light-sensitive grid, used for converting images into electrical signals –Webster’s dictionary • 由許多微小的像素Pixels以規則排列所組成的,而像素之間的間距pitch是由半導體的設計與製程所決定的,式一個精確微小的物理量,約在10微米的數量級左右

CCD濾鏡 • CCD 的像素本身只會對光的強度有反應，對光的色彩沒有分釋能力，單純 CCD 本身，只能拍得灰調的影像。要拍到彩色的影像，需在 CCD 的每一個光電體前加上三原色的濾鏡，使每一個光電體也只能接收和量度其中一種原色的光度強弱：R 濾鏡可讓紅光通過；G 濾鏡只讓綠光通過；B 濾鏡則只準藍光通過。 原色濾鏡在 CCD 上較普遍的排列方式是 RGRG（紅、綠、紅、綠）一行，另一行則是 GBGB（綠、藍、綠、藍），從而便組成分佈平均的 RGB 排列。亦即是業界是為廣泛應用的 GRGB 排列。另一種排列方式是 CYGM (Cyan-Yellow-Green-Magenta) 。
