First Workshop on Dynamical Cores

The 1st Workshop on Dynamical Cores, held in Lecce from 14th to 16th 2011, aimed to exchange information on the latest developments in dynamical cores and foster collaboration among European and US groups. Participants discussed methodological and computational challenges in climate modeling and identified critical issues in the state of the art of Dycore projects. Breakout groups focused on collaborative strategies for sharing results and enhancing cooperation beyond Europe. The workshop concluded with the development of a roadmap for future initiatives and plans for subsequent workshops.
