  2. Unit Summary In this Unit the students will learn the rooms and furniture found in the home, as well as what chores and activities different people in their families do at home. They will investigate how homes and families are different around the world. Students will produce a project in which they describe their dream home and what responsibilities their “entourage” will do in the house.

  3. Student Objectives/Outcomes • Students will make connections with other cultures by comparing their home lives in the United States and those of people in Spanish-speaking cultures. • Students will present information about the home and those who live there through innovative and collaborative visual presentations.

  4. Curriculum Framing Questions • Essential Question: • How do I communicate about myself & others? • Unit Question: • What would it be like to live in a home in a foreign country?

Curriculum Framing Questions • Content Questions: • What are the rooms in my home? • What items can I find in my home? • How do I talk about items in relation to one another? • What do people do in each room of my home? • What chores need to be done? • How much does it cost to live in Spanish-speaking countries? • What is daily life like in Spanish-speaking countries?

  6. Products • Groups will: • Work collaboratively to create a “MTV Cribs Dreamhouse” • Design a Prezi, Glogster or other presentation to display their work • Present their work to the class in Spanish
