This study utilizes Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) data collected from sub-state regions in South Dakota to provide critical epidemiological insights into substance abuse. With South Dakota comprising 66 counties, the analysis highlights the disparities in survey responses, noting that in 2006, only 13 counties had over 50 surveys completed, and just 4 counties surpassed 300 surveys. The findings aim to support local substance abuse prevention efforts by identifying areas with significant substance abuse concerns.
