  3. The Scarlet Macaw The Scarlet Macaw is the national bird of Honduras It is a very intelligent bird and can easily be taught to speak Its diet consists of vegetables, fruits, and nuts NEXT

  4. The White Faced Capuchin Monkey The White Faced Monkey is the smallest monkey found in Honduras weighing 2.5-3.5 kilograms or 5.5-8 pounds. These monkeys are very social animals and can be found in groups of 2-25. Its diets consists of fruits, leaves, flowers, small insects and birds’ eggs They are found in the tropical and dry forests of eastern central Honduras. NEXT

  5. Jaguar The Jaguar is the largest carnivore found in Central America. They are good swimmers and climbers. Its diet consists of monkeys, deer, fish, turtles and other animals. They usually live alone except during the mating season in August to September. The cubs stay with the mother They have been hunted intensively due to the high value of their pelt. The hunting has stopped, but they’re still endangered because of development and deforestation. Jaguars can run up to 65 miles per hour. NEXT
