The world’s population is constantly increasing. To accommodate everyone, we need to build modern, sustainable cities For all of us to survive and prosper, we need new, intelligent urban planning that creates safe, affordable and resilient cities with green and culturally inspiring living conditions.

  2. More than half of the world’s population now live in urban areas. By 2050, that figure will have risen to 6.5 billion people. Sustainable development cannot be achieved without significantly transforming the way we build and manage our urban spaces.

  3.  Making cities safe and sustainable means ensuring access to safe and affordable housing, and upgrading slum settlements.

  4. It also involves investment in public transport, creating green public spaces, and improving urban planning and management in a way that is both participatory and inclusive.
