  1. drug schedules CSA created 5 ‘controlled drug’ schedules. non controlled drugs can have 11 refills for a year after rx date. schedule I------no accepted med use w high abuse potential. heroin, marijuana, LSD,ect sch II----high abuse potential. narcotic or stimulant or depressant. opium, cocaine, amphetamine, methadone, oxycodone, Combination products with less than 15 milligrams of hydrocodone per dosage unit (Vicodin), cocaine, methamphetamine, methadone, hydromorphone (Dilaudid), meperidine (Demerol), oxycodone (OxyContin), fentanyl, Dexedrine, Adderall, and Ritalin sch III-----less abuse. have minimal narcotics sch IV-----even less abuse. benzodiazepines pentazocine sch V----min abuse. antitussive, antidiarrhea, analgesic. no prescription needed if from pharmacist and below 240ml opium drug and below 120ml schV and age 18. SLCPScheduled Listed Chemical Products---ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, phenylpropanolamine commercial bottle will have ‘C’ with sch#

  2. controlled substances sch 2 ----see list sch 3-Amphetamines (Adderall, Uppers) Anabolic Steroids Barbiturates (Barbs, Buprenorphine Diazepam (Valium) Dronabinol (Marinol) Ketamine (K, Special K, Vitamin K) Morphine (Morph, Miss Emma, Dreamer) (less than 50mg per 100g or with a non-narcotic medication added ) Xyrem (containing GHB)

  5. sch2 refill emergency!!!!! emergency sch2?????? ok… 1---dr has no other treatment 2--written rx not possible now(dr at home,ect) 3—when dr calls must get all rx info and dpharm writes down 4--only enough for emergency 5--verify DEA# unless you know the dr 6--dr has 7 days to give original rx--’auth for emergency only’ 7--call DEA if not arrived.

  6. transfer rx to another pharmacy sch3 4 5 can transfer only one time. must write down all info. sch2 drug is not transferred. some sch 5 don’t need rx. another pharmacy wants your pharmacy drugs 1---registered with DEA? 2---record pharm gave it and who got it 3--must do Form 222 if sch2 4--must be under 5% of pharm dosage units in a year. mail your meds? can mail if no drug name on mail envelope. drug monograph=package insert=medication info sheet indications, dosage, contraindication, warnings, adverse reaction, interactions
