Explore how incorporating various digital tools can facilitate learning, foster communication, and enhance student engagement. By the end of the workshops, participants will be equipped to differentiate instructional technologies, evaluate their applications in the classroom, and design effective lessons using these tools. Network with fellow educators and share ideas to stay current with evolving technologies and achieve better teaching outcomes.

Technology as a Tool • Benefits of Technology: • Lends us opportunities to integrate skills • Gives us access to authentic resources • Fosters communication and collaboration • Extends our English lessons outside of the classroom • May foster enthusiasm – Learning should be fun • Gives us multi-modal learning opportunities • Provides more opportunities for one-to-one feedback • Lends us opportunities for self-paced learning • Facilitates a “greener” approach
Objectives By the end of these five workshops, teachers will be able to • differentiate between several broad categories of instructional technologies and compare their uses, • evaluate uses of instructional technology in the language classroom, • demonstrate the appropriate use of instructional technology to meet specific language teaching objectives, • design and teach a micro-lesson using instructional technology as a tool to reach lesson objectives, and • develop strategies for staying up-to-date with changing technologies
Grading Guidelines • Attendance & participation • Reflections on and evaluations of specific tools • Final micro-lesson
