SEO TACTICS: Evaluating With Quality Raters Guidelines
With Google’s August Broad Core Update, SEO professionals whose sites have been negatively affected are wondering what to do to “fix” everything. You see, the effect of the update was truly massive. There was a significant impact on medical and YMYL sites on a global scale. This gave the core update the nickname: The Medic Update. Danny Sullivan from Google suggested that people who are concerned about this broad core update should read Google’s Quality Raters Guidelines. In a tweet, he said that having great content is the same boring answer for better rankings. “Want to do better with a broad change? Have great content. Yeah, the same boring answer. But if you want a better idea of what we consider great content, read our raters guidelines. That’s like almost 200 pages of things to consider” – Danny Sullivan (@dannysullivan) In the end, high-quality content is still the key to achieve better rankings in the SERP. Time and again, people tried to define what a high-quality content should be like. Reading the Quality Raters Guidelines will give us an idea of what Google believes a high- quality site is. Want to do better with a broad change? Have great content. DANNY SULLIVAN anythingseo
According to Search Engine Journal, the raters guidelines listed the five most important factors for a quality web page: Purpose of the page E-A-T Quality (Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness Quality) Main content quality and amount Site information and information on the creator of the main content Site reputation and reputation of the creator of the main content Three out of those five relate to content: Purpose of the page E-A-T Quality Main content quality and amount The remaining two, information and reputation, are more about the author of the content.
I believe the most important thing among the five factors is the purpose of the page. Everything revolves around it. The expertise, authoritativeness, trustworthiness, quality, and the amount should be enough to satisfy and achieve the purpose of each page. User satisfaction is directly related to the level of satisfaction fulfilled by the content of the site. Understanding user intent and purpose for visiting a site has been the focus search algorithms. SEO writers should note that content that satisfies the users intent would likely rank better in the SERP. SEO writers should note that content that satisfies the users intent ANYTHINGSEO anythingseo
