  1. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19

  2. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 The Bible is very careful to point out that we can be lost (shipwrecked) in our faith Paul, who made this illustration, knew from experience what it was like to be shipwrecked physically (Acts 27:40-44) Wrecks of every kind, cause much pain and heartache, especially when one gives up their faith and their home with God in heaven -Let us examine : -Several ways one can make shipwreck of the faith

  3. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 Some have never started their journey of faith and are also in danger of being lost. What about you? Anyone who is a Christian can make shipwreck of the faith Warnings to saints in the New Testament, make it very clear that a Christian can fail to keep the faith (Heb. 3:12-19; I Cor. 10:1-12; Rev. 2:5) -WHO CAN MAKE SHIPWRECK OF THE FAITH?

  4. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 The Bible shows us how to please God and grow in the faith of Jesus Christ (II Pet. 1:5-11; John 17:17) Ship Captain’s use all kinds of compasses and digital devises to make sure they are on the right track (Jer. 10:23; Prov. 14:12; 16:25) We must have the proper guidance or we could be in danger of shipwreck (Psalm 119:105; II Cor. 4:3-6; II Timothy 3:16-17) -MISDIRECTED SHIP (Lost In Their Faith)

  5. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 If you have any thought that you might be off- course, do not delay to return to the Lord It may be possible from time to time to stray from the straight path to our destination (II Peter 2:20-22) There is a distinct difference between the one who is misdirected and the one that is off-course (Matt. 7:13-14; John 14:1-6) -OFF-COURSE SHIP (Side-Tracked In The Faith)

  6. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 When we find ourselves leaving the Lord, we must repent and turn back to do His will (Rev. 2:4-5) There are several examples of those who for a time left the faith (Lk. 22:54-62; II Tim. 4:10; Philem 24; Matt. 26:47-50) We must acknowledge that we can also leave the faith today and make shipwreck (I Tim. 4:1-2) -ABANDONED SHIP (Leaves The Faith)

  7. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 God desires those that will be rich in faith, and not be caught up in the things of this world (Luke 12:16-21; James 2:5) We can forfeit the treasures of the faith if we are not careful, and become shipwrecked (Matt. 6:19-21, 33; Romans 6:23; Col. 3:1-4) Satan is out to rob us of our faith and the rewards that follow (Matt. 13:19, 22) -PLUNDERED SHIP (Stolen Faith)

  8. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 We must not allow false doctrine, trials, temptations, or any such matter keep us from heaven (Eph. 4:13-16) The different challenges that we face each day can cause us to go astray (I Peter 1:5-9; 4:12-19; Matt 5:10-12) We must keep these difficult times from slowing us down (Acts 5:40-42; Acts 14:19-22) -STORM TOSSED SHIP (Trials And Temptations In The Faith)

  9. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 We have the option of standing strong and victorious or taking the fall of defeat (Jam. 1:13-16) The concept of falling in the faith is not foreign to the warnings found in the NT (I Cor. 10:11-12; Gal. 5:4; II Pet. 3:17) Satan is looking for those who are subject to this type of fall (I Peter 5:8) -SUNKEN SHIP (Fallen From The Faith)

  10. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 Those who do not grow, will not be strong enough to endure till the end (II Peter 3:18; Heb. 5:12-14) Many would say that “the docked ship is the safe ship”…not in the faith (Matthew 28:18-20) Remaining active in the faith is the only way to be saved and faithful (Acts 2:42; I Cor. 15:58) -DOCKED SHIP (Hypocritical / Inactive Faith)

  11. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 We must be able to say at the end of this life, “I have kept the faith” and “finished the course” (II Timothy 4:7-8) We must put forth the effort to be faithful to God and find our way to Him (Matthew 7:13-14; Luke 13:24) We must set our eyes on the goal of heaven and being in Christ, press on toward it (Heb. 12:1-2; Phil. 3:13-15) -TRIUMPHANT SHIP (Plans And Finishes In The Faith)

  12. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 This illustration of shipwreck in the faith, is one that will cause us all to think about our responsibility in the kingdom of God At the end of this life will you look back and see: -The life of one who overcame all setbacks -The life of one who made shipwreck Will you hear the words: -Enter in to the joys of your Lord -Depart from Me, I never knew you -APPLICATION

  13. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 Ask yourself, “Where am I on my spiritual journey?” -Did you answer, “I have never started my spiritual journey in the faith”? -Did you answer, “I have sinned and feel like I am idle in the Lord’s work”? -Make some changes tonight? -APPLICATION

  14. SHIPWRECKED IN THE FAITH I Tim. 1:19 -ENTER YOUR SHIP OF FAITH TONIGHT? -Hear John 12:48 -Believe John 8:24 -Repent Luke 13:3, 5 -Confess Matt 10:32-33 -Baptized Mark 16:16 -Faithful Matt 24:13
