Course Mechanics • Prerequisites: • A high school or college programming course • Honors eligibility • Textbook: Programming Principles and Practice Using C++, BjarneStroustrup • Zyante for online interactive “textbook” (free trial) • Piazza for quick communication (free) • For more interactivity, you must do some work in advance for each class (posted on web): • reading and/or Zyante questions • Lab: • Attendance mandatory! Course Content • Principles of computer programming • Design, modularity, testing,… • Independent of particular programming language • Practice with computer programming • Using the C++ language • Exposure to wider world of computer science • History, applications, other languages, “culture” activities CSCE 121-200

  6. Grading • Exams (2 midterms and a final): 35% • Homework: 35% • Project: 20 % • Culture Reports: 10% • Late work policy: −10% of maximum grade if turned in up to 24 hrs late, −20% if turned in 24 to 48 hrs late, etc. If solutions already discussed, then not accepted. CSCE 121-200
