ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS CBSE has awarded certificates of merit to 81 students of class X(2013-14) on the basis of outstanding performance and obtaining A1 in all the five subjects in All India/ Delhi Secondary School Examination, 2014.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) and Educational Initiatives (EI)identifies the finest scholastic talents among 7th and 8th grade students in Mathematics, Science and English subjects, through its 'Duke TIP ASSET Talent Search Program. 37 students from our school qualified the 1st round and 10 students have qualified for the next level.
CELEBRATING SANSKRIT WEEK • The CBSE circular dated 30th June 2014 no. ACAD-19/2014, urged schools to promote the teaching and learning of Sanskrit- the mother of all languages. The school conducted Sanskrit related activities in July-August 2014 as a part of Sanskrit week celebration. During this week the students engaged themselves in the following activities. • Class VI, VII, VIII prepared Sanskrit word collection on different topics. • Class VI prepared Sanskrit games on different topics. • Class VIII recited Sanskrit shlokas. • The students of classes IX , X and XI also performed the following activities: • Laghubhashanam (short speech) • Developing games for Sanskrit learning • Essay writing competition • Sanskrit ShlokaAntakshari • Class IX and X did a research on establishing links/ genesis of other Indian and international languages with the Sanskrit language. • The students from IX and X enacted a Sanskrit play named 'Apsar Mahima'. • 'Character dramatization' was done by students of classes VII and VIII. • Ms. RachnaGarg, Ms. GeetaMendiratta and Ms. Garima Johri also prepared research work on the topic "Science in Sanskrit”.
SWACHH BHARAT SWACHH VIDYALAYA CAMPAIGN To launch Swachh Bharat SwachhVidhyalayAbhiyaanin the school various activities ware designed for classes 6th to 10th for the month of October. The first activity was conducted on 1st October in which two short films along with a power point presentation on cleanliness were shown in all the sections of 6th and 7th. The students also took a pledge to become active participants of this abhiyaan and to take care of the cleanliness of their school and surroundings.- their contribution to the cleanliness program launched by hon'ble PM Mr.NarendraModi on 2nd October.
CELEBRATION OF CENSUS WEEK Ministry of Home Affairs and Directorate of Census Operations launched an initiative called ‘Census & You’ . Our school was selected for celebrating the Census Week . Various activities were conducted in the last week of September at different levels. 1.Poster Making Class VIII 2.Board Decoration Class VIII 3.Survey conducted by number of students Class VIII 4.Quiz Contest Class VIII 5.SSt. Worksheet based on the material Class VI provided by Home Ministry. 6. Maths Worksheet based on the material Class VII provided by Home Ministry.
GURU UTSAV The Ministry of Human Resource Development , Govt.of India along with C.B.S.E. announced an Essay Writing Competition and invited entries from the students to share inspiring stories about their teachers who have played a pivotal role in shaping and moulding their lives. 30 students of classes V To XII participated in the Gurutsav Essay Writing Competition on 29th August 2014.
ACHIEVEMENTS Celebration of Excellence CBSE organised ‘Celebration of Excellence’ from 13th to 15th August, 2014 for the students who have excelled in academics, sports and other activities. The programme included address by the Hon’ble Human Resource Minister and other eminent dignitaries, local sight seeing and participation in the Independence Day Celebrations at Red Fort on the 15th August. During the programme, the students also prepared an e-book ‘HamariDharohar, HamaraSapna’. Vinayak Parihar of class X was selected as he had set a new record in 200 M Butterfly Stroke Boys Under 16 Years Category. Mr Harsh Kumar,Mr. PankajBhanwani, Mr Suresh, Ms. Prerna Ms. PriyankaBhasin and Ms. DeepikaKwatra were the teacher escorts for the event.
AWAKENED CITIZEN PROGRAMME The Awakened Citizen Programme for imparting Value Education initiated by CBSE along with the Rama Krishna Mission has been implemented in Class VII in the school. Our school is a part of the Value Education Pilot programme launched by the Mission. Ms. Kavita Dhar, Ms. AnupamaBhandari, Ms. RachnaGarg and Ms. Shilpiattended the three days’ Teachers’ Orientation Programme conducted at the Rama Krishna Ashram.All the class teachers of class VII were trained for conducting these sessions in their respective classes.
The Annual Swami Vivekananda Competition – 2014 The Annual Vivekanand Competition was organised by Ramakrishna Mission on 31st July 2014 for classes VI to XII. About 85,000 students from 160 schools took part in the first round of the competition. Four students from our school have been selected for the second round of the Annual Swami Vivekananda Competition – 2014.
ACHIEVEMENTS • CBSE in collaboration with Trinity college, London organized an intensive 5 day ASL Master Trainer’s workshop from 21st July to 25th July 2014 under the CBSE’s prestigious project on the Assessment of Speaking and Listening Skills. • Out of the Examiner Trainers (ET’S) from Delhi, NCR, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Bangalore and Rajasthan region who were trained at the first level,59 teachers were selected on merit for the second level i.e to be the ASL Master Trainers. • Ms. Rashika Singh and Ms. Bineeta Fialok represented BBPS, Pitampura for this training.
ACHIEVEMENTS Delhi school children discovered 2 unknown asteroids to be placed in the International Astronomical Union. • Akshat Sharma and Kshitij Jindal of class XI discovered an asteroid temporarily named as 2014 OU6 during the All India Asteroid Search Campaign. The search is conducted globally by the International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC), and in India by SPACE. There were about 75 teams registered from around the country.
OUR PTA TEAM… We thank the members of the outgoing PTA Executive body who have been our active co-partners for the last 4 years (2010-2014). Their contribution and cooperation have helped us to keep giving our best to every child in the school. The new PTA was constituted and welcomed at the meeting held on 2nd August 2014. We welcome the members of the newly elected PTA body and we look forward to a pleasant journey ahead with the shared goal of taking the school to greater heights.
BOOK LAUNCH BY PTA MEMBER Mr. Vikram Singh, PTA Executive released a book “ChetnaStrotra” on the life of ShahidBhagat Singh on 22nd September 2014.
ACHIEVEMENTS Vidushi Chhabra, Tishya Mahajan and Parichay Bajaj of class XI participated in the Regional Round of the World Scholar’s Cup which was held in Indirapuram Public School on 23rd and 24th April 2014. Our team qualified for the Global round in Singapore with the following achievements at the Regional level .
ACHIEVEMENTS • Our students attended the Global round at Singapore from 24th -27th June,2014. TishyaMahajan won the School top scorer's medal. • DhruvValeja of class XII has been selected for the KVPY (KishoreVaigyanikProtsahanYojana )fellowship Award – 2013 – effective from 1st August 2014 for students enrolled in class XII in science subjects. The fellowship is conferred by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
FINANCIAL LITERACY BOON As a part of the drive “SAVE and EARN” the students of classes IX, X, XI and XII have been encouraged to open a Savings Account at the Bank of Baroda, Parwana Road. Financial Literacy Manuals were distributed to the students of IX and X.
The Moment of Calm To make the students understand the value of forgiveness, an inter class activity was conducted in classes XI and XII on 15th July, 2014 and 18th July 2014 respectively. The activity ‘The Moment of Calm’ involved board making where each class had to make a tree of forgiveness and hang forgiveness messages in the form of leaves on it. It was a unique experience for the students to participate in the activity which also enhanced their life-skills.
