ComSoc CIO Operations CIO Mission: Oversees cost-effective planning, acquisition, maintenance and use of the Society’s information systems and networking, databases and telecommunications services Ensures ComSoc’s ability to leverage IT technologies for all aspect of ComSoc modus operandi Approach: Provide Support for online products: pubs, conf proceedings, post-conference material sales Provide IT support for ComSoc groups’ and communities’ activities: web presence, forums, communications, meetings Support IT-based mechanisms for ComSoc’s Recruiting, Retention, and Revenue

  3. IEEE & ComSoc IT Infrastructures ComSoc IT Staff Request / Response IEEE IT Infrastructure IEEE IT Services Direct Access ComSoc virtualized its own infrastructure by utilizing IEEE IT Infrastructure and Services Request / Response ComSoc Virtual Infrastructure ComSoc Volunteers Direct Access

IEEE & ComSoc IT Infrastructure The service Architecture ITC responds to ComSoc’s needs by deploying S/W, M/W and applications on top of IEEE Infrastructure and Services ComSoc utilizes Vendor-supplied and Open Source Software ComSoc’s own staff and volunteers are used in the deployment of applications ComSoc procures applications as needed from vendors in the applications market place

Conference iPad/iPhone app • Features: • -Conference Program • -Session room map • -Real-time communication • -Post session survey • -Rebrand for other conferences • Prototype & target 2013 conference evaluation for live app Q4

Description Schedule Webcasting Certification Training WCET virtual classes One per quarter IEEE Greencom Webcast vendor: WebEx – IEEE license ComSoc registration application M&C considering converting some conferences to virtual Registration live on June 1 Event in September ComSoc Webcasts i) CCNC; ii) WCNC; iii) DySPAN; iv) ICC v) SMARTGRIDCOMM; vi) GLOBECOM
