  2. Congruent Figures • Congruent figures have the same size and shape. • They have corresponding sides that are congruent. • They have corresponding angles that are congruent. These trapezoids are congruent.

  3. Triangle ACB is congruent to Triangle XZY. <A corresponds to <X Side BC corresponds with side YZ.

  4. Similar Figures • Similar figures have the same shape but not necessarily the same size. • They have corresponding angles that are congruent. • They have corresponding sides that are proportional.

  5. To see if a figure is similar to another, check to see whether the sides are proportional.
