Background • Created by Salutron Inc., founded in 1995, based in the Silicon Valley with offices worldwide. • Salutron began as a technology developer of heart rate solutions for commercial cardio equipment manufacturers worldwide. • In 2000, Salutron created a new market opportunity with episodic heart rate monitoring off the wrist for the sporting goods class of trade. • In 2008, Salutron created a brand called “Smart Health”, and began its journey into health and wellness monitoring. • In 2012, Salutron acquired Linea Research, based in Palo Alto, CA, to expand our leadership position in biometric monitoring devices. • Linea Research is contracted to perform research projects on biometric and neurological monitoring for the US Government (NASA, DOD, DARPA, DHS). • Salutron continues to be granted research projects to these government agencies.
Technology/Superiority • Waterproof to 3 ATM (90 Feet). • ECG Accurate Heart Rate at the simple press of a button. • Smart Health uses patented technologies to integrate heart rate into your calorie calculation. Our calorie calculation is NOT based solely on the motion of the accelerometer. • The Smart Health proprietary DDC (Dynamic Distance Calibration) is used to recognize the difference between a walking, a jogging or a running stride. DDC recognizes these activities are not the same, nor are the stride lengths. • The unique ESF (Enhanced Step Filtering) used by Smart Health eliminates the counting of most non-step activities, such as driving or biking. By utilizing ESF, Smart Health gives the user a truer understanding of their daily step count. • Visually monitor your activity hourly, daily or weekly with our AGD (Active Graphics Display). AGD allows for visual representation of your progress. • Customize your Daily Goal for Calorie, Distance and Steps. Track your progress on the home screen, visually or numerically, each day.
Distribution • Smart Health is currently distributed in over 35,000 retail outlets in the US and Canada. • The Smart Health brand is carried in the largest national pharmacy chains in both the US and Canada. • Online Distribution includes Amazon.com and Costco.com. • Smart Health has been expanding its distribution since 2008.
