It is also an excellent learning tool for established GPs in the UK to identify specific educational needs and can be used as a means of managing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

  7. Advice from Revalidation Support Team 20.9.2008 • What do I need to do? • Make sure you have annual appraisals. This will be mandatory—ask your local employing or contracting organisation for advice • Make sure you are aware of your royal college guidance about evidence requirements (see college websites or www.appraisalsupport.nhs.uk ) • Learn how to use an electronic portfolio. Find the one most suitable for you through college websites or the following: • Stay up to date with what’s happening in revalidation and how it will affect you through local events, the GMC newsletter, and websites: GMC website (www.gmc-uk.org)
