  1. PRAYER

  2. Today we are going to study a very interesting concept

  3. Separate the fruits based on their type and put them inside the box.

  4. THIS IS DIVISION

  5. DIVISION - Means splitting the numbers or objects into equal parts.

  6. - is the number to be divided. DIVISOR - is the number that divides the dividend. QOUTIENT - is the answer in division. 10 ÷ 2 = 5 DIVIDEND EXAMPLE: DIVIDEND DIVISOR QOUTIENT We say, “10 divided by 2 equals 5.”

  7. Let’s have an example:

  8. ÷ = 2 3 6 How many strawberries should we give to each student?

  9. Let’s have another example: 1. How many pens does T. Jasmine have? 2. How many students does T. Jasmine have? 3. How many pens for each of them? ÷ 2 = 8 4 We say, “10 divided by 2 equals 5.”

  10. 5 2

  11. 3 6

  12. DIVISION - a shortcut for the repeated subtraction of the same number.

  13. Let’s have an example: Sarah have 12 crayons and she put 3 crayons in each paper bag. How many paper bags did she use? 12 ÷ 3 = ? Remember: We have to subtract the dividend and divisor until the remainder is 0.

  14. How many paper bags did she use? ÷ 4 3 12 = - 3 crayons in 1st bag. 9 crayons left. 12 crayons - 3 crayons in 2nd bag. 6 crayons left. - 3 crayons in 3rd bag. 3 crayons left. - 3 crayons in 4th bag. 0 no more crayons left.

  15. 27 ÷ 9 = 27 - 9 We got the answer 27 ÷ 9 by subtracting 9 form 27 until the remainder is 0. 18 - 9 9 - 9 0

  16. 1. 14 ÷ 7 = 6. 40 ÷ 4 = 2. 25 ÷ 5 = 7. 20 ÷ 4 = 3. 18 ÷ 3 = 8. 46 ÷ 2 = 4. 12 ÷ 6 = 9. 36 ÷ 9 = 5. 49 ÷ 7 = 10. 40 ÷ 5 = 2 2 10 5 5 23 6 4 2 7 8
