  4. China GDP growth in last 30 years • Largest developing country The largest total amount CO2 emission in the world, and ranked 72nd per capita. (Data from Copenhagen Climate Council) • Second-largest economy

  5. Characteristics of energy consumption in China • Huge energy consumption with high growth rate. • Low carbon energy grows fast in recent years while small in proportion. • The total energy consumption more than doubled from 2002 to 2009.

Characteristics of energy consumption in China China is a energy-shortage country and at the same time it consumes large amount of energy. • The average coal storage per person is 50% of the world average value, • The average crude oil per person is about 11% of the world average value, • The average natural gas per person is about 4.5% of the world average value.
