Dickinson High School Local Scholarship Application Guidelines (2013-2014)

This document outlines the steps to complete the local scholarship application for Dickinson High School for the 2013-2014 academic year. Students are required to fill out pages 1-4 neatly using black or blue pen and submit them to Ms. Nall in the College and Career Center. The application includes teacher and counselor recommendation forms, which must be completed and submitted as per guidelines. Be diligent not to wait until the last minute to gather materials and ensure all documents are submitted by the February 7, 2014 deadline.

  1. Local Scholarship Application 2013-2014 Dickinson High School

  2. Common Application You are to complete pages 1, 2, 3 and 4 Write neat and legible, preferably print, in black or blue pen Do not leave blank lines WRITE YOUR NAME ON ALL 4 PAGES Turn into Ms. Nall in the College and Career Center

  3. Teacher Recommendation Form Give to 3 different teachers (they do not have to be current teachers) These should be given with your resume or a completed resume sheet DO NOT wait until the last minute to give these to your teachers, PUT YOUR NAME ON THIS FORM Only teachers can turn in the completed recommendation forms, completed recommendation forms WILL NOT be accepted from students.

  4. AP Discipline and Attendance Form PUT YOUR NAME ON THIS FORM Turn into Mr. Blume’s office.

  5. Counselor Recommendation Form PUT YOUR NAME ON THIS FORM Turn into Ms. Nall in the College and Career Center

  6. Scholarship List Read criteria for scholarships Circle the number next to the scholarship you want to apply for If the scholarship name is in Bold and Italic, it requires an essay…. Essays should be typed, not written Only apply for scholarships that you meet the criteria for PUT YOUR NAME ON THIS FORM Turn into Ms. Nall in the College and Career Center

  7. Scholarship Criteria List Requirements for each scholarship are listed. Scholarships in bold require and essay If you meet the criteria for a scholarship and it requires an essay WRITE THE ESSAY

  8. Transcript Request Form MUST be completed and signed. Parents must sign if under 18 yrs old. Does not count towards the (4) free transcripts Turn into Ms. Nall in the College and Career Center

  9. You will receive (1)one paper copy of the application , • Application is also available on the DHS Counselor's website (http://schools.dickinsonisd.org/default.aspx?name=10.counselingcenter). • All Materials Must Be COMPLETE and turned in for application to be processed. • You can turn in a copy of your résumé to be included with your application. • DO NOT WAIT UNTILTHE LAST MINUTE TO TURN IN YOUR APPLICATION DEADLINE: February 7, 2014
