  1. Area of a Triangle A= ½bh or A=bh÷2 Area equals one half times base times height OR Area equals base times height divided by two

  2. Area of a Parallelogram A=bh Area equals base times height

  3. Area of a square/rectangle A=bh OR A=lw Area equals base times height OR Area equals length times width

  4. Area of complex figures • Decompose the figure into basic shapes (rectangles and triangles) • Find the area of each basic shape • Add the areas together.

  5. Area of a trapezoid Hint: this is a complex figure • Decompose the figure into basic shapes (rectangles and triangles) • Find the area of each basic shape • Add the areas together.

  6. Surface Area • Find the area of each face • Add all the areas together

  7. Volume of rectangular prisms V=lwh Volume equals length times width times height

  8. Perimeter Add up all the side lengths

  9. Change a Fraction to a Percents • Numerator divided by denominator • Multiply by 100 (or just move the decimal two spaces right)

  10. Change a Fraction to a Decimal Numerator divided by the denominator

  11. Change a Decimal to a Fraction • Say it • Write it • Reduce it

  12. Change a Decimal to a Percent Multiply by 100 OR (just move the decimal two places to the right)

  13. Change a Percent to a Decimal Divide by 100 OR (just move the decimal two places to the left)

  14. Change a Percent to a Fraction • Put the percent in the numerator and 100 is the denominator. • Simplify.

  15. Absolute Value The distance away from zero on a number line. Hint: it is always a positive number.

  16. Distributive Property Multiply EVERYTHING inside the parenthesis by the number on the outside of the parenthesis.

  17. Order of Operations PEMDAS Parenthesis Exponents Multiply and Divide from left to right Add and Subtract from left to right
