Croatia is a beautiful country located on the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, known for its sunny summers and snowy winters. With a population of approximately 4.3 million, Croats make up 78% of the population, alongside Croatian Serbs, Muslims, and other groups. The official language is Croatian, and education recognizes several minority languages. Predominantly Catholic, Croatians enjoy a rich historical past, from King Tomislav's unification in 925 to present-day cultural practices, including common greetings and family structures.

History • Slavic people started to migrate along the eastern coast of the Adriatic sea • Croatians were united by a man named king tomislaw in 925. • In 1941 Croatians sided with the Germans in world war 2 so there people would not go to war and go to concentration camps
Population • About 4.3 million people live in Croatia • The actual number of Croatians is remained unknown because of the recent refugee situation • Croats form 78% of the population • Croatian Serbs are 12% of the population • Muslim, Hungarian, Yugoslav, and other small groups make up the rest of the population
Language • The language of Croatia is Croatian • Serb, Italian, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak and Ukrainian languages are aloud to be used in education
Religion • 77% of all Croatians are catholic • 11.1% are Orthodox • 1% are Muslim • 4% are Atheist • 7.3% are other
Greetings • Croatians give handshakes like most other European countries • They say dobra dan for good day • Dobra jutro for good morning • Do vidjenja for until we meet again
Gestures • Hand movement is use commonly in conversations • People rub their index finger and there thumb for money
Commerce • Work hours usually start around 8 a.m. and end usually in the afternoon • Stores usually don’t close until 8p.m.
family • Rural families usually include two kids, two parents and grandparents • Urban families usually include only two parents and two kids
Education • There are four universities up in Croatia • There are three subjects that they are specialized in they are science, medicine and engineering
